Earliest Memory

One of the earliest memories that I can recall involves a fishing trip with my dad and cousin at the Tongue River resivoir. I was only about 4 years old and I loved to fish and hunt when i was younger...well i guess i still do. Anyway, i remember my dad would always cast for us and we would sit in our little chairs by the water and patiently watch our bobbers. I was having some trouble with my worm so my cousin Ty, who was a few years older, came over and helped me. He left his pole unattended for no more than 5min and all the sudden it went dashing into the water. He began to cry and got very upset. About an hour later i remember i had a huge bite and could barely hang on to my pole! My dad came and began to help me before i too lost my pole. After some very tough reeling we were shocked to see what was coming out of the water. It was my cousins pole! and the fish was still on it. We were very suprised and amazed how lucky the situation turned out, and i believe that is why it is one of my earliest memories.

Smooth Talk

I believe that I enjoyed reading the story far more than the actual movie. It seemed to somewhat follow the book but it was not exactly what I had expected. In the movie I did not see Arnold as akward and creepy as I had imagined him. I got the feeling that Connie was more somewhat seduced and more comfortable with Arnold in the movie. I didn't really care for the ending in the movie and think that in a way they drugg it out too long. She did not seem to be too troubled or hurt by whatever had happened in the movie, making it not seem as bad as I had imagined it reading the story. I believe that I would have enjoyed the movie far more if I had not read the book before watching it.

Where are you going where have you been?

I thought the story was kind of random and didnt really seem to have a point. It was however easy to predict that the creepy guy was going to do something harmful to the girl. The story was very short and seemed to jump around alot.
